Cooked rice : We will learn how to wash the rice and cook with a pan.

Miso Soup : We will make the stock from scratch.

Tamagoyaki : We will make Rolled egg with a traditional square pan which is the high light of the class.

Gyoza: We will make the gyoza wrap by scratch.

Side dish with seasonal veggies.

    Gyoza

    Gyoza is a dumpling using wrapping thing dough to hold the inner ingredients. Most commonly, minced pork, cabbage, Garlic and Leek. The origin of Gyoza is from China but it has evolved uniquely in Japan and now quite different from the Chinese one.

    Rice

    Rice is a staple food in Japan. In all most every family, there is a rice cooker. There is variety of Japanese rice brands such as Koshihikari and Hitomebore.

  • Miso Soup

    Miso Soup

    Miso soup is a traditional Japanese soup. It's base is "dashi" (Japanese fish stock) and Miso paste. Common added ingredients are Tofu, Green onion and deep‐fried tofu but differs by personal preference. The type of miso is different from region. In western and Easter Japan white miso is mostly used.

  • Sake

    Sake

    Japanese popular alcoholic drink must be Sake, or called Nihonshu, made from fermented rice. The foundation of good sake is quality rice, clean water, koji mold and yeast. Premium sake differentiates itself in quality of ingredients and production process, so that flavors ranges light and crisp to richer, fruity notes.

Cooking Class Information

In the class, we will cook typical home style dishes which many Japanese cook at home for dinner. There are some ways to cook rice and we will learn how to cook with a pan in case you don't have a rice cooker. Miso soup stock is made from Bonito fish and seaweed and we will be making our soup by scratch. Gyoza is pork and veggies wrap, We will wrap together and fry it golden brown! Tamagoyaki is the egg dish you see at a Sushi restaurant. We will make it with a square pan and it is absolutely fun! As the side dish, we will make it with seasonal veggies. Off course, you could receive the recipes via email to cook at home.
