・Usucha tea (matcha tea, thin tea)
The taste of three different matcha (powdered green tea) is compared by making a usucha tea.
To make usucha tea, mix 2 g of matcha powder with 70 mL of hot water (80-85°C).
Since we will be drinking three different types of usucha tea, we will prepare half the volume.
Matcha powder and tea utensils are also available for purchase.
While eating dried sweets, we will drink the usucha teas I have prepared in turn, and each person will write his or her evaluation and impression of each usucha tea.
After that, each participant will prepare and drink his or her own usucha tea using his or her favorite matcha powder.
I am a professor at the Omotesenke school of tea ceremony. I have extensive experience teaching students and conducting formal tea events. The tea ceremony has a prestigious image, but I decided to start hosting this event because I wanted people to become more familiar with matcha tea in a simpler way.
Depending on the wishes of the guests, I will explain not only the tea ceremony but also the kimono, tea cuisine, tea utensils, tearoom/gardens, and historical background. Matcha tasting is also available. The experience is held in a Japanese-style room, but table seating is also available. The time of the experience is also tailored to the wishes of the guests.
I am happy if guests enjoy it.
