Where we go is totally up to you—your host is a full-on Kansai local, ready to take you anywhere. Namba, Umeda, Shinsekai, the deep streets of Nishinari… or even venturing outside the city to Kobe, Sannomiya, or Kyoto. I’ll follow you wherever you want to go—no questions asked (well, maybe a few laughs along the way)!
Hop off at Dobutsuen-mae Station subway and dive into this old-school downtown full of character. Centered around the iconic Tsutenkaku Tower, the streets are packed with restaurants and souvenir shops. When you think of Shinsekai, think "Jan-Jan Yokocho" this place is super famous for kushikatsu (deep-fried skewers)! And don’t miss the legendary knife shop "Tower knives Osaka" run by that famous Canadian—it’s become one of Shinsekai’s quirkiest landmarks!
Namba is the heart of Osaka’s Minami district, and basically half the shops here are restaurants—no wonder they call it the “town of eating till you drop.” The main attraction? Well, that’s for you to decide! I’d go with takoyaki, of course, but did you know there’s a legendary local specialty—soy-grilled corn? Fun fact: locals used to call corn “Namba,” so… Namba? Really?!
For those in the know, this is ‘Namba’—grilled corn with soy sauce. ChatGPT didn’t know either! Wanna bite? So anyway, you guys! tomorrow is the big day—sushi-making time! Are you ready?
Day 2 is finally here—Sushi-Making Day! Can you believe you’re gonna make that sushi yourself? Become a sushi chef? No way! Yep, in just one day, you can make sushi. There’s a secret trick, and we’re gonna share it with all our awesome guests—here we gooooooo!
The moment we’ve all been waiting for—Sushi Day is finally here! A certified sushi master with 40 years of experience is about to reveal the secrets of sushi-making. Can you feel the excitement? Get ready, get hyped… Let’s do this, c’mon baby! Exciting!!
Then snap pics of the sushi you made and show them off back home—‘I really made this!’ After the feast comes the sad goodbye, but we hope the memories from these two days in Japan become memories you’ll treasure forever. Thank you so much! We hope to see you again soon—we’ll really miss you.
Hi, I’m Keitaro!
I’m a former sushi chef with experience both in Japan and the US, and now I’m here to share the real Japanese sushi experience with people from all over the world.
My kitchen is just a quick 20-minute train ride from Osaka’s Umeda Station. It’s clean, cozy, and the perfect spot to roll up your sleeves and make sushi in a safe, fun setting.
I love experimenting with ingredients, pairing sushi with local sake, and swapping travel stories. But here’s the serious part—sushi isn’t just food. It’s tradition, technique, and a way to connect people. That’s the part I want you to experience most.
Beginners? Totally welcome. I’ll guide you step by step, and you’ll be amazed at how quickly you can make beautiful nigiri.
So come hungry, bring your curiosity, and let’s create some delicious sushi and unforgettable memories together!
And hey, just so you know—I’m officially licensed too:
I hold a National Chef License (Japan’s official government certification for chefs),
Fugu Handling Registration Certificate,
Japan Sommelier Association–certified Wine Sommelier,
and I also hold certifications in Japanese whisky.
Nothing you need to worry about, but it’s nice to know your sushi is in safe hands!
Thank you all!
