5 Best Hakuba Ski Resorts In 2019-2020

Hakuba is a household name when it comes to ski resorts and locations. The resort whose entirety is called the Hakuba Valley is made up of 9 ski resorts, the best 5 which we’ll be highlighting. This location is known for its powder snow, slopes, proximity to major cities like Tokyo and a lot of other positives. Because of its Japanese heritage, choice of resorts, and most certainly its fluffy snow, the resort is increasingly popular, especially with skiers and snowboarders. Each of the resorts that constitute Hakuba offers tremendous service and of course rental gears enabling guests to visit empty-handed without having to pack snowboarding or skiing gears. Without further ado, here are the 5 highest rated Hakuba Ski Resorts in 2019-2020.

Happo One Ski Resort, Hakuba

Happo One (pronounced ‘On Ay’ instead of ‘One’) is the center of skiing for Hakuba Japan. This resort is the most popular of the nine Hakuba Ski Resorts and visitors flock to it as it was the venue for the 1998 worldwide winter Olympics. The only two options for this resort are skiing and snowboarding, but the resort is fully concentrated with accommodation, shops, bars, restaurants, and tourist centers. At this family-friendly resort, you can take in the stunning views of the Japanese Alps whilst sitting in a hot spring.

Hakuba 47 Ski Resort

This resort is connected to the Goryu Ski Resort as they share a lift pass amongst other things. The Hakuba 47 Ski Resort is probably the best option especially at the peak of the winter season. The terrain parks and snow quality on this resort are impeccable, however, the slopes are much steeper making them perfect for advanced snowboarders and skiers. Skiing is from 8:30 am to 9:30 pm and the resort has an equal skier to snowboarder ratio.
