Near the northern border of the Tokyo city lies a beautiful and entertaining neighborhood known as Akabane. The place is fascinating, cheerful. It is one of the favorites of the local Tokyo citizens. It is not popular among tourists. A high number of Japnese workers visit Akabane. 

In Akabane, there is a famous area known as Yokocho. The meaning of Yokocho is an alleyway. Yokocho area has seen an evolution process and now compromises of many narrow streets. Each street has its own flavor and popularity.

As you explore the area of Yokocho, you will find a beautiful street Nonbei Yokocho. The Nonbei is also known as Drunkard’s alley. This area of Yokocho is historically important as its details roll back to 1950s.

This street of Yokoncho is very near to the Shibuya Station. So, it is the host of a large number of visitors. Despite its popularity, most of the visitors are Tokyo workers who come here to relax. The Nonbei Yokocho is popular for tiny bars and delicious street food. Some of the bars are so small that only four to five people can fit in the bar. When you visit the area, you should enjoy traditional food from Yakitori shops which means grilled chicken shop.
