Cooking Class Menu

・ Let's make the popular anime character in the world happily together!

・ Side dishes:
Rolled omelet, sausages, meatballs, and seasonal vegetables

Cooking Class Information

In this class, each table is divided into four to five people, and one instructor will proceed with the lesson.

Character Bento is a handmade dish that Japanese mothers make with love.
All of the side dishes packed in the bento are popular with children, and they are handmade in consideration of the nutritional aspect and the cuteness of the appearance.

All of the staff are experienced instructors who have taught lessons to group guests. Some of them are expert instructors who have taught in cooking classes for more than 20 years. In addition, there is also a professional dietitian, so we will choose the ingredients that can be eaten with peace of mind and cook them. And everyone will teach with all their hearts.

It is possible to correspond even in a large number of people. And the bento containers to use use renewable paper products. We try to avoid food as much as possible.

Hello! Come and Learn Japanese Home Cooking in a Warm and Fun Atmosphere!
I run a Japanese cooking class for foreign visitors, offering a unique opportunity to learn Japanese home-style cooking while experiencing Japanese culture. I especially welcome families with young children and parents who want to cook together with their kids. My goal is to create a friendly and enjoyable environment where both children and adults can have fun while learning about Japanese cuisine.

About Me
I have been making bento boxes for my family for over 10 years. Since 2017, I have been working as a cooking instructor for foreigners, teaching over 300 people how to make character bento (kyaraben).

I have also shared my skills with friends who wanted to master character bento-making, and my work has been featured in several media outlets.

On weekdays, I work as an English teacher at a kindergarten, where I interact with many children every day. Thanks to this experience, I can patiently teach even small children, making my lessons perfect for families with young kids.

Why I Value Family-Friendly Lessons
When my own daughter was in kindergarten, I used to make character bento for her, and it became a wonderful way to spark her interest in food and healthy eating. Inspired by this, I want to provide a fun and interactive cooking experience that families can enjoy together.

On weekends and long vacations, my husband and teenage daughter are often at home, and they love greeting our guests. This is a great chance for you to interact with a real Japanese family while enjoying a cooking experience!

My Experience and Achievements
In 1996, I completed a certification course for teaching Japanese cooking to foreigners and spent two years teaching at a cooking studio in Tokyo. During that time, I also helped train Japanese staff and contributed to creating an environment where foreigners could learn Japanese home cooking with ease.
After that, I opened my own cooking studio in Tokyo, where I introduced many people to the beauty of Japanese cuisine. However, after the COVID-19 pandemic, I moved my classes to my home kitchen, creating a more personal and welcoming experience.
Now, I host about 100 students per year, offering them an authentic and enjoyable way to learn about Japanese cooking and culture.
Awards & Volunteer Activities
In August 2017, I participated in the International Character Lunch Box Contest and won a prize!
I have also contributed to Make-A-Wish, the global volunteer organization that fulfills children's dreams, by teaching a character bento lesson for a Make-A-Wish child.
Join Me for a Fun Cooking Experience!
In my class, you will learn how to make character bento and traditional Japanese home-cooked meals while experiencing the warmth of a real Japanese family.

I look forward to welcoming you and your family or friends to my class for a memorable Japanese cooking experience. See you soon!

An excellent and family-friendly experience. Yoshie welcomed us into her home and was a patient and informative host - we especially enjoyed the fun food facts we learned while making bento. One of the best activities we’ve done in Japan!

The father, rather than just the two daughters, was especially engrossed in making the Totoro bento. Watching the whole family happily singing Totoro songs while working together became a wonderful memory for me as well. The 6-year-old daughter created a Hello Kitty with a unique mouth, and everyone praised the younger sister, saying, "It's so cute!" I truly felt that they were a wonderful family. Thank you so much for joining my lesson!

Thank you Gemma, My house is an hour from the city center, but thank you for liking the general atmosphere of Japan people in a quiet residential area. I am very happy that you took many pictures of the finished handmade lunch box. I'm happy to have a memory of your trip to Japan.

We had the best time making bento with Yoshie!!! It was such a special experience to be invited into her kitchen and learn how she prepares character bento. She made the process easy and fun, and we all came away with a box that looked like something from a magazine!! Even my 7 year old had a fabulous time and was successful in making his first Pikachu Bento. My 10 year old girls also enjoyed their Hello Kitty bento. In addition to learning the preparation techniques, we also got to taste a few new foods--going through the process of cooking things like the Japanese egg omelette made it much more accessible for my children, who don't always enjoy new flavors. This is something that we will bring back to our home in the United States and make a regular part of our meal prep--she made it that simple!! I will also note that Yoshie is fluent in English, which was so helpful with my sadly non-Japanese-speaking American family. I'm so glad that we signed up--meeting Yoshie and cooking with her has been the highlight of our trip to Japan. Thank you Yoshie for an amazing day!!

Hello Rachel, Thank you for posting your wonderful review. This will be very helpful for future guests, especially families with children. My daughter said your children were cute and she wanted to spend more time with them. It was a typical home-cooked meal in an ordinary Japanese kitchen, but I was really happy that your children enjoyed each and every meal. It motivates me to continue this lesson. I sincerely hope that your family will always be happy. ARIGATO, Yoshie

Hi Albert, Thank you for the great review. I was very happy to have the opportunity to work with you on a TV shoot, which was a very valuable experience for me. You and your girlfriend were witty and your comments were wonderful, and of course the bento box was perfect. I was happy because your bento was better than mine. When you return to Germany, please recreate the lunch box you made with me. Thank you for making fun memories together. Yoshie

My 9year old daughter and I had a fabulous time with Yoshie! She helped us make exactly the bento box character my daughter wanted. Her English was very good so communication was not a problem. She was very enthusiastic and patient with my daughter which made the overall experience excellent. I would highly recommend Yoshie for those interested in cooking classes.

My family had a delightful time with Yoshie! We are so glad we did this class! While our kids are teenagers, they are more likely to remember making a Pokemon themed bento box then if we had just taken a generic Japanese cuisine cooking class. It made it so much more fun! Yoshie is fluent in English, and made getting to her home so easy. We all loved working with her! Thank you, Amy & family

Hi Natasha, Thank you for taking my lessons with your family. I am very happy that I was able to provide a memorable experience in Japan. It was spring break in Japan, so my daughter was happy to help out. When you go back to Canada, please make a Totoro bento with the rolled omelette that we made together. Take care!
