Ehime is a northwestern Shikoku’s prefecture. This sizeable rural prefecture of Japan is prominent for being the largest city in Shikoku, Matsuyama.
It includes some remarkable cultural milestones which cover famous Matsuyama castle, Oyazamzumi Shrine and Dogo hot Spa. The major local festivals in Ehime includes UwajimaGaiya Matsuri, Matsuyama Summer Matsuri and Saijo Autumn Matsuri.
Ehime offers some enjoyable range of local foods such as “YakibutaTamago Don” (BBQ pork with a fried egg on rice, “Senzanki” (Japanese style deep fried chicken) and “Imotaki” (Taro potatoes, octopus, chicken, vegetables and other ingredients are boiled together in a pot)
There are many activities, and exploration to do in Ehime prefecture, cultural events, experiencing local food delicacies and much more. We recommend not only eating the traditional dishes of Ehime but also participating and learning in cooking classes, while also learning about Japanese culture and history.
