The Pocket of Tokyo

Those individuals who are aware of the importance of temple street remember it as the pocket of Tokyo. The street has a lot of restaurants, cafés and shopping centers. This 200 meters road was survival of  World War II as it wasn’t a target at times. The street connects Shibamata Station with Taishakuten temple. 

If you want to feel what Tokyo city was before modern architecture, this should be your place. There are a vintage atmosphere and feeling in the air. It has multiple shops; there are wooden houses from the early days and old-style fashion shops. Among other reasons for the popularity of the street, its movie history is quite astonishing. ‘It’s tough being a man’ is one of the most successful movies in Japanese cinematic history. Temple street was the shooting sight for that successful movie.
