TAKOYAKI
Takoyaki is one of Osaka's famous specialties.
It's a bite-sized round pancake filled with octopus, topped with sauce.
It's cooked using a special griddle and tools. Even kids can make it, so both adults and children should enjoy it.
Though called a pancake, it's not sweet.
The batter has a savory Japanese Dashi (Japanese soup stock)flavor.
After trying the standard TAKOYAKI, we recommend enjoying sweet takoyaki as dessert (where the filling is replaced with chocolate and the batter is made sweet).
Takoyaki is very cute, small battered balls containing octopus. When you visit Osaka, you can see Takoyaki shops and people wandering the streets while eating it.
Make the batter using flour, eggs, and dashi stock.
Place the filling and batter onto the special hot plate to cook.
Try flipping the batter skillfully with the special tool to see if you can make it perfectly round!
