・Takoyaki
Takoyaki is a ball-shaped snack made by cooking a mixture of wheat flour batter, diced octopus, and other ingredients.
Takoyaki is a popular street food, especially in Osaka and the Kansai region.
Takoyaki is typically served with toppings such as sauce, mayonnaise, and bonito flakes.
In this cooking class, we can cook Takoyaki together!
Takoyaki is like a fried dough ball with octopusfilling.
Tako means octopus and Yaki means fry in Japanese.
It’s batter is made from flour, soup stock, eggs and cabbage.
Osaka is famous for Takoyaki.
We make takoyaki using a special takoyaki maker! A takoyaki maker is an iron plate with lots of small ball-shaped holes. The process of cooking and shaping the takoyaki into balls is so much fun, I love it!
Japanese people often enjoy takoyaki parties with friends and family! They enjoy different kinds of flavors of takoyaki by changing the ingredients to their favorites! I like to add cheese, kimchi, sausage, etc.!
Also, toppings are not limited to sauce and mayonnaise, but the combination of ponzu sauce and green onions is also great! Give it a try!
Hello, I'm Yuuka.
I live in Kyoto and cook almost every day for my family, friends, and foreign guests. Some of my recipes were taught to me by my grandmother and mother, and some are my own.
I love experiencing different cultures, so I'd like to talk to people from different countries. And I've been practicing calligraphy and tea ceremony since I was little. If you want, you can also experience tea ceremony and calligraphy.
As part of my cooking class, I can also show you around shops and cool tourist spots in Kyoto.
I look forward to meeting you.
