Cooking Class Menu

・Inari Sushi
We buy Inariage at tofu store and make inari sushi. I want you to know the deliciousness of inarisushi!

・Miso soup
We have miso soup every night.
Ingredients include tofu, seaweed, dashi and rice miso.

  • Inari Sushi

    Inari Sushi

Inarizushi is stuffed in seasoned Aburaage tofu pouch. Inarizushi is technically sushi, but it is not something you order at nice sushi restaurants. It is easily found at supermarket delis, but, as you know, home made is the best. Inarisushi is a very casual food and a perfect lunch for picnics because it’s best eaten right from your hands.

  • Rice

    Rice

Rice is a staple food in Japan. In all most every family, there is a rice cooker. There is variety of Japanese rice brands such as Koshihikari and Hitomebore.

  • Miso Soup

    Miso Soup

Miso soup is a traditional Japanese soup. It's base is "dashi" (Japanese fish stock) and Miso paste. Common added ingredients are Tofu, Green onion and deep‐fried tofu but differs by personal preference. The type of miso is different from region. In western and Easter Japan white miso is mostly used.

Cooking Class Information

In this cooking class, we can cook homemade Inari Sushi and Miso soup together!
Both are one of the most popular Japanese dishes.
We will start by first making Sumeshi rice for Inari Sushi. Then, wrap the rice by inariage.
After that, we will make miso soup starting by first cutting vegetables and tofu.
Then, boil water and make umami tastes by adding dashi.
Finally we throw miso and melt it.
You can learn how to get umami taste with konbu (or fish) dashi and maximize the miso taste properly.
If you have time, I will make matcha drink after eating the dishes.
