We had the most amazing experience with Kimie! She met us at the station and walked us to her house where she had prepared our names written in traditional kanji and told us the meanings! The ambience was very traditional with incense, music, and tatami, she even prepared kimonos for us to try on for the tea ceremony! She was a great teacher and we got to make 3 wagashi sweets with different designs and taught us how to make matcha. My mother has bad knees but she didn’t have to kneel during the ceremony as there were some seats which was a relief. Kimie’s friendliness really made the experience very memorable and I would love to do it again! This was a massive highlight of our trip, ありがとうございます!
