  • Takoyaki

    Takoyaki

Takoyaki is very cute, small battered balls containing octopus. When you visit Osaka, you can see Takoyaki shops and people wandering the streets while eating it.

  • Sake

    Sake

Japanese popular alcoholic drink must be Sake, or called Nihonshu, made from fermented rice. The foundation of good sake is quality rice, clean water, koji mold and yeast. Premium sake differentiates itself in quality of ingredients and production process, so that flavors ranges light and crisp to richer, fruity notes.

Takoyaki & Premium Japanese Drinks Experience in a Local Tokyo Home

Hosted in English by a local bilingual Japanese host.

Step into a real Tokyo home and experience an evening of Japanese food, drinks, culture, and conversation.

Before cooking, relax with matcha, a seasonal Japanese sweet, and a fresh seasonal salad featuring Japanese vegetables, including sweet Japanese tomatoes known for their rich flavor.

In this hands-on experience, you'll learn how to make Takoyaki, one of Japan's most beloved street foods. We'll guide you step by step as you prepare the batter, pour it into a traditional takoyaki pan, and master the art of flipping perfectly round Takoyaki.

Customize your Takoyaki with a variety of fillings, including traditional octopus, cheese, and kimchi, then finish them with authentic Japanese toppings and sauces.

To complement the meal, enjoy up to three premium Japanese alcoholic drinks. Choose from Japanese beer, highball, chuhai, sake, or premium Japanese whisky while learning about Japan's unique drinking culture and food pairings.

We'll also prepare a selection of seasonal Japanese side dishes chosen by your host. Some dishes may change depending on the season and ingredients available, making each experience a little different and unique.

After cooking, we'll gather around the table and enjoy a cozy home-style izakaya experience, sharing food, drinks, stories, and cultural insights together. This is a chance to experience the warm atmosphere of a Japanese gathering in a relaxed local home rather than a restaurant.

Along the way, you'll learn simple Japanese dining etiquette, chopstick culture, and make your own origami chopstick holder.

Take home the recipe, a small Japanese souvenir, and wonderful memories of Japanese hospitality.

Groups of three or more guests will receive a complimentary bottle of Japanese sparkling sake to share.

Optional seasonal Japanese desserts featuring premium fruits or matcha are available upon advance request.

Whether you're traveling solo, with friends, or with family, we look forward to welcoming you to our table and sharing a memorable Tokyo evening together.
