Cooking Class Menu

Welcome to Japan! This is a class to learn about Japanese culture. The special thing is that you can make Japanese sweets simultaneously. Let's deepen your understanding of Japanese customs and taste them!
My name is Naoko. I love Japanese culture, history, and neoclassical literature. I am especially fond of the confectionery culture. I am an instructor of wagashi making, and I run a class called URARAKASHI. Wagashi is a traditional Japanese confectionery. In my class, you will learn the Japanese story of the season you visit, make wagashi, and have a cafe with the finished wagashi. Matcha (powdered green tea) will also be served together.
Why don't you enjoy sweets while feeling the beautiful Japanese scenery?
Wagashi are made mainly from plant-based ingredients and are very healthy. They are also a part of Japanese culture, and the art of handmade wagashi represents the aesthetic sense of the Japanese people. I want people all over the world to know the deliciousness of Japan. I like to experience different cultures, so I would like to talk with people from different countries. I look forward to meeting you!

    Green Tea

The astringent constituent in Japanese tea is a type of polyphenol called catechin. Japan has done a great deal with the humble tea leaf. For example some benefits of the catechin in the tea leaf can lower cholesterol in some cases. Roasted over charcoal at a high temperature and grown under shade for at least 20 days are one of the examples. The most popular Japanese tea might be ryokucha. Depending on the timing of picking the leaves, the grade, the price can be noticeably different.
