【What to cook】
・Takoyaki ・・・ the outside will have crunchy texture while the inside is creamy, and it has Umami taste even without takoyaki sauce.
•Japanese Citrus Dressing Salad

Home made mayonnaise, takoyaki sauces, Japanese miso soup, and a bowl of matcha are additionally prepared.

  • Takoyaki


    Takoyaki is very cute, small battered balls containing octopus. When you visit Osaka, you can see Takoyaki shops and people wandering the streets while eating it.

  • Miso Soup

    Miso Soup

    Miso soup is a traditional Japanese soup. It's base is "dashi" (Japanese fish stock) and Miso paste. Common added ingredients are Tofu, Green onion and deep‐fried tofu but differs by personal preference. The type of miso is different from region. In western and Easter Japan white miso is mostly used.

Cooking Class Information

This experience promotes you Japanese food culture for who are not even good at cooking!! Since I was born and brought up in Osaka, takoyaki is my soul food because I have beautiful memories with this simply tasty food!!

The workshop will start at 11:00am for lunch, 3:00pm for light meals, & 5:00pm for dinner.

【Duration】3.5 hours

First Terumi will explain the detailed information what to cook before starting cooking. In this lesson we don't take short cut to make takoyaki.

We use big cut octopus because it is the main ingredient for authentic takoyaki.
Great takoyaki balls have umami tasty flavour and joice come from the main ingredient, octopus itself.

Regarding red ginger for takoyaki, we will cut Terumi’s prepared red ginger colored with mixture of Japanese purple and salted plum juice.

For the takoyaki sauce, we will prepare
two kinds.

We had an amazing time with Terumi, she welcomed us into her home and was friendly, funny, very knowledgeable and a lovely person to be with and an amazing cook. We cannot express our gratitude enough on how she treated us like friends and even put the Rugby on TV for us to watch whilst we are dessert.
