★★★★★ (19)Hi, my name is Takako. I grew up in a Sushi restaurant in Japan as my dad is sushi chef. I’ve been interested in cooking since I was little and I'm still passionate about cooking everyday.
I lived in London for 20 years and taught Japanese cooking to my friends.
I am experienced with vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, macrobiotic and of course traditional Japanese food, so please let me know your interest.
My home is near Inokashira Park, which is world famous for cherry blossoms and autumn colours; as well as the popular town of Kichijoji. I can also recommend you fantastic restaurants in the area.

★★★★★Cooking with Takako was such a fun and unique experience. She met us at the local station and walked us to her apartment. She was so warm and welcoming - we felt like part of her family. We cooked and ate 4 dishes together - miso soup, green vegetables in a sauce, soba noodle salad and gyoza. She made everything vegetarian for us also. The food was really nice and she was a great teacher. Takako ate with us at the end, and we got to learn about her and her life. She even gave us some great local recommendations. Would absolutely recommend if you’re in Tokyo!

★★★★★A lovely experience. Basic Japanese cooking class, suitable for beginners :) Takako taught us to prepare gyoza, miso soup, a soba salad, and vegetables in sesame sauce, which were all great. Even better was her hospitality - we cooked at her house, and sat down to lunch after together, she provided us with two gyoza-making implements, as well as her own miso mix to take home, and even helped us get a taxi after we’d neglected to bring umbrellas. She’s also an incredibly interesting person. Highly recommended!

★★★★★Hands down the best experience I had in Tokyo. The class was really informative and easy to follow - Takako was very encouraging and made getting stuck in easy. Takako was a wonderful teacher, the class culminated in a lunch with her family who were delightful. Her husband escorted us to the station via a tour of the local town which is a must see in my opinion. Would highly recommend. Thank you for making the start of my trip so memorable!!

From talking to her about her life to making the best Japanese dishes to meeting her fantastic daughter Lana, it was a once in a lifetime experience. ★★★★★Hi Takako, we had a great time today, starting from the walk through the park and to your lovely home. We were impressed by how prepared you were and your encouragement through the whole process. We enjoy cooking proper Japanese gyozas along with a wonderful salad dressing for a salad and miso soup. The process was well explained and we are now confident that with a bit of practice we will be making gyozas in our own home as good as you do. We are looking forward to book ourselves in another cooking class next time we are back in Tokyo. Thanks for everything, it was so great to meet you.
