Cooking Class Menu

☆ 3 types of Sushi (Nigiri, Maki, and Inari Sushi)
☆ Miso Soup (made with handmade miso)
☆ Japanese sweets
☆ Matcha experience
(I demonstrate a casual Japanese tea style, then you can make your own bowl of matcha.)
☆ Homemade juice

I will guide you step by step so you can create beautiful dishes.

Enjoy all the hands-on cooking experiences in my warm and friendly home.

Japanese sweets are handmade for dessert.
Finally, you will prepare and enjoy your own bowl of matcha.

  • Inari Sushi

    Inari Sushi

Inarizushi is stuffed in seasoned Aburaage tofu pouch. Inarizushi is technically sushi, but it is not something you order at nice sushi restaurants. It is easily found at supermarket delis, but, as you know, home made is the best. Inarisushi is a very casual food and a perfect lunch for picnics because it’s best eaten right from your hands.

  • Miso Soup

    Miso Soup

Miso soup is a traditional Japanese soup. It's base is "dashi" (Japanese fish stock) and Miso paste. Common added ingredients are Tofu, Green onion and deep‐fried tofu but differs by personal preference. The type of miso is different from region. In western and Easter Japan white miso is mostly used.

Cooking Class Information

.In this class, you will make authentic Japanese sushi from scratch.

First, you will prepare sushi rice.
You will then make three types of sushi:

* Nigiri Sushi: sashimi placed on top of seasoned sushi rice
* Maki Sushi: sushi rice and ingredients rolled in seaweed
* Inari Sushi: sushi rice stuffed into sweet simmered tofu pockets

We will also make miso soup by adding homemade miso to a dashi stock.

Japanese sweets will be handmade for dessert.

Finally, I will demonstrate a casual Japanese tea ceremony style.
Then you will prepare and enjoy your own bowl of matcha.

Keiko made this one of the best experiences we will ever have in our lives. She is truly the sweetest, most knowledgeable and accomodating host. My sister and I took this class together, and Keiko enlightened us with invaluable knowledge we will have forever. Her home is beautiful and clean, and the food was absolutely delicious. Keiko makes an effort to express information about Japan, whilst also asking about your own country of origin. We wish Keiko the absolute best and urge everyone to give this a go if you are staying in Osaka, no matter your cooking ability!

It was an amazing cooking experience preparing all the ingredients with the host giving detailed instructions to make all the menu on the lists from making mochi with pineapple which was so good, making sashimi with just the right size amount of rice, and my favorite part was making miso soup was so yummy. Overall experience was excellent. I would highly recommend Keiko because she's an awesome host. She even dropped us off to the train station after cooking class via her car which was a little bit far from her house.

Our cooking experience with Keiko was fantastic and was one of the highlights of our Japan trip!! She was a great host - very warm and welcoming. Keiko was extremely professional and good at explaining the cooking process step by step. Everything was every well-organized and clean. The end products were delicious - we made nigiri, inari sushi, miso soup, mochi and matcha. She taught us the Japanese eating etiquettes before we started consuming the platted food.
