Okonomiyaki Lunch
Okonomiyaki is a Japanese savory pancake, made with flour, eggs, shredded cabbage, meat and toppings as you like. This variability is reflected in the dish's name: "okonomi" literally means "to one's liking". You can eat it everywhere in Japan, but especially Okonomiyaki made Hiroshima style and Osaka style are the most famous.
In this class, we will make Okonomiyaki together! As You know, Okonomiyaki
is Osakan soul food. We can make it much easier than you may think.
First, cut the vegetables like cabbage, spring onion, etc. Then we mix the Okonomiyaki flour with eggs and water. We mix them all, (if you like squid, or pork, or shrimp, mix anything you like!) pour them on hot plate and cook until golden brown. Then you should turn them over with big spatula! That’s fun experience!
When cook well, we put on mayo, Okonomiyaki sauce, aonori seaweed, and dried bonito flakes on them! Eat while hot!
