・Futomaki(Sushi rolls)
Futomaki is a sushi made of vinegared rice and other ingredients wrapped in seaweed.
We also make tamagoyaki(Japanese omlet)to use as an ingredients.
・Miso soup
Miso soup is a traditional Japanese soup.
It's base is "dashi"(Japanese fish stock)and miso paste. The ingredients are tofu, green onion and wakame(a kind of seaweed).
In this cooking class, we will make Futomaki sushi and miso soup. For us Japanese, the ingredients for thick sushi rolls are eel, conger eel, dried gourd, cucumber, tamagoyaki (rolled egg), and boiled shiitake mushrooms, but in my class, we arrange the ingredients so that foreigners can easily eat it. Basically, we use boiled shrimp, avocado, tamagoyaki (rolled egg), and tuna mayo as ingredients, but if there is something you don't like, please feel free to tell us. To make thick sushi rolls, first we will make tamagoyaki (rolled egg) together and prepare the ingredients (tamagoyaki is one of the soul foods of Japanese people. We will use a rectangular frying pan). Next, we will spread vinegared rice on seaweed, place the ingredients on top, and roll it up. Let's learn how to roll it into a beautiful shape.
And as for miso soup, there are various ingredients. It is made by combining various ingredients such as potatoes, carrots, eggplant, onions, mushrooms, tofu, shellfish, and wakame (seaweed), but here we will make miso soup with the standard tofu, wakame, and green onions in Japan. It's easy to make, so you'll learn how to make it in no time.
