Cooking Class Information

In this cooking class, we can cook Japanese gyoza (Japanese dumplings) together!
Gyoza is one of the most popular Japanese dishes. It’s different from Chinese style dumplings, because they are pan-fried, instead of steamed. Start by cutting the vegetables and mixing them with the meat to make the dumpling filling.
And then wrap those ingredients with the gyoza wrappers.
Finally we fry them with a big pan!
You can learn how to wrap ingredients with the wrappers and form the gyoza properly.
Gyoza wrappers are crispy while the vegetables and meat inside the Gyoza are juicy.
We will also make a type of Japanese soul food, the rolled omelet, by using a rectangular frying pan. It’s fluffy and sweet !!

Hello, I'm Yuuka.
I live in Kyoto and cook almost every day for my family, friends, and foreign guests. Some of my recipes were taught to me by my grandmother and mother, and some are my own.
I love experiencing different cultures, so I'd like to talk to people from different countries. And I've been practicing calligraphy and tea ceremony since I was little. If you want, you can also experience tea ceremony and calligraphy.
As part of my cooking class, I can also show you around shops and cool tourist spots in Kyoto.
I look forward to meeting you.
