・Gyoza
Gyoza is a Japanese dumpling made by wrapping meat, cabbage, leek, etc.
The wrapping process is fun and a very rewarding experience!
・Ramen
Ramen is one of the most popular foods in Japan. Ramen comes in many different flavors, but we'll be making the basic soy sauce flavored ramen!
In this cooking class, we can cook Japanese gyoza (Japanese dumplings) together!
Gyoza is one of the most popular Japanese dishes. It’s different from Chinese style dumplings, because they are pan-fried, instead of steamed.
Start by cutting the vegetables and mixing them with the meat to make the dumpling filling. and wrap those ingredients with the gyoza wrappers.
Finally we fry them with a big pan!
You can learn how to wrap ingredients with the wrappers and form the gyoza properly.
Gyoza wrappers are crispy while the vegetables and meat inside the Gyoza are juicy.
You will also learn how to make ramen, a dish that is loved not only by Japanese people but by people all over the world. You will learn the basic flavor of ramen with a soup based on chicken bones and soy sauce!
Toppings are roast pork, green onions, and naruto (kamaboko).
Let's all make Japanese food together and enjoy eating it deliciously! Make some wonderful memories.
Hello, I'm Yuuka.
I live in Kyoto and cook almost every day for my family, friends, and foreign guests. Some of my recipes were taught to me by my grandmother and mother, and some are my own.
I love experiencing different cultures, so I'd like to talk to people from different countries. And I've been practicing calligraphy and tea ceremony since I was little. If you want, you can also experience tea ceremony and calligraphy.
As part of my cooking class, I can also show you around shops and cool tourist spots in Kyoto.
I look forward to meeting you.

★★Hello, we booked this cooking class in oder to learn how to cook the basic/typical japanese food but unfortunately we were a little disapointed. maybe it was because we all had some cooking experience and these 2 dishes we made with a lot of ready-made products, which in our opinion , had nothing to do with cooking. the classroom is far away from Kyoto city and we had some expectations. the course should take 2 hours but after 45 minutes we were nearly done- including eating. Yuka is a very nice person, but after an hour we were on our way back to the city, still a little hungry and not satisfied with the result.

Thank you for participating in my cooking class. In the class, we provide an experience that allows you to buy ingredients at an Asian shop and make the dish again when you return to your home country. The duration is set to about 2 hours, but depending on the number of people, it may be quicker. However, I am sorry that I could not meet your expectations.
But It was so wonderful to meet you. Thank you.

★★★★We enjoyed our experience with Yuka. She was very welcoming and showed us how to prepare Gyoza and ramen. Both were delicious. I have taken a star off as we were expecting the experience to be in a Japanese home, so when it was at a rented commercial kitchen I think it lost a bit of its charm for us.
