You will enjoy the following content:

1.History and Tools:

- Learn about the history of futomaki and sushi while discovering the tools and seasonings used in their preparation. This will deepen your understanding of basic cooking techniques.

2.How to Make Sushi Rice:

- Master the art of making sushi rice using a special sushi tub. With this skill, you'll be able to make delicious sushi at home!

3.Making Dashimaki Tamago:

- Learn the techniques for making fluffy dashimaki tamago using a specialized frying pan. Enjoy the professional taste of this Japanese omelet right at home.

4.Making Futomaki:

- Experience the fun of rolling your own futomaki using a special sushi mat. With fresh ingredients, you’ll make sushi rolls perfect for family and friends’ gatherings. This is a great opportunity for parents and children to learn together, strengthen family bonds, and explore Japanese food culture.

5.Making Matcha Tea:

- Experience preparing matcha tea using traditional tea ceremony methods. Enjoy beautifully presented matcha and seasonal Japanese sweets for a relaxing and delightful moment.

- Savor a bowl of miso soup made with care by the chef.

- Sake: Hakkaisan (180ml)
- Beer: Kirin Ichiban Shibori (350ml)

    Miso Soup

    Miso soup is a traditional Japanese soup. It's base is "dashi" (Japanese fish stock) and Miso paste. Common added ingredients are Tofu, Green onion and deep‐fried tofu but differs by personal preference. The type of miso is different from region. In western and Easter Japan white miso is mostly used.

    Japanese popular alcoholic drink must be Sake, or called Nihonshu, made from fermented rice. The foundation of good sake is quality rice, clean water, koji mold and yeast. Premium sake differentiates itself in quality of ingredients and production process, so that flavors ranges light and crisp to richer, fruity notes.

Our experienced instructors will guide you carefully so that even beginners can feel at ease. You can learn how to make sushi rice, sushi rolls, dashimaki egg rolls, and even how to make matcha tea. The class is a fun and friendly atmosphere where you can chat, ask questions about Japanese cuisine and culture, and have fun with the whole family. English-speaking guides explain ingredients and cooking procedures and assist with communication. You can easily learn the art of Japanese home cooking.

【Location and Access】
The classroom is located in Zoshigaya, which is just one train ride away from Shibuya on the Fukutoshin Line. Along the way, you'll pass by Meiji Shrine and Shinjuku. The nearest station, Ikebukuro, offers shopping areas with Animate, Pokémon Center, and electronic stores. Additionally, near the classroom is the beautiful Kishimo Shrine, adorned with red torii gates, which is perfect for a stroll after your lesson.

1. Meet at outside of Zoshigaya station

The classroom is just a 3-minute walk from Zoshigaya Station (Fukutoshin Line). If you are coming from Zoshigaya Station, please contact us in advance and we will arrange to pick you up. Additionally, it is a 15-20 minute walk from Ikebukuro Station, a major terminal.

The instructor is a former Japanese chef. After a brief self-introduction, the details of today's lesson will be explained. We will then cover the history and types of sushi rolls. Aprons will be provided, so please come without bringing anything.
