Hello, my name is Miho Kondo.
I have been teaching Japanese cooking classes for 10 years at a culture center in Switzerland, where I lived for many years.
Now that I am back in Tokyo, I would like to offer my cooking classes to foreign visitors.
My motto is to explain the cultural background of Japanese food and to demonstrate recipes in a way that is easy to understand and can be done at home back.

★★★★★Miho was a consummate host and an excellent teacher. Our day began with her meeting us at the station and taking us through the local market to explore the ingredients we would be using in the sushi we were preparing. Before the class, I had several conversations with Miho to tailor the lesson to the types of sushi our group wanted to make. She was incredibly flexible and happily adjusted her offerings to suit our requests. We made two types of inside-out rolls (Uramaki), Nigiri (rice with a slice of fish on top), and Inari sushi. Miho’s teaching style was gentle, clear, and informative. She explained the different elements of each dish, how to bring them together, and why those combinations work. She also shared the history of sushi and how it rose to prominence in Japanese food culture in a relatively short period of time, which added real depth to the experience. With ten years of experience teaching cooking classes in both Japan and Switzerland, Miho knows how to guide people of all levels and skillsets through the process. She is conscientious, kind, and ensures you leave both satisfied and full. The kitchen we worked in was excellent — a large, professional space that comfortably accommodated our group of five and could easily fit up to eight. After the class, Miho also gave us thoughtful recommendations on what to explore in the local area, Kichijōji, which is a vibrant and popular part of Tokyo often ranked as one of the city’s best neighbourhoods. This was a highlight of our trip to Japan. I highly recommend Miho’s class to anyone looking for a meaningful and delicious cultural experience.
