・Okonomiyaki
Okonomiyaki is a savory Japanese pancake, a famous soul food of Osaka! We mix flour, eggs, and plenty of cabbage, then grill it to a fluffy perfection on a hot plate. We finish it with sweet and savory sauce, mayo, and "dancing" bonito flakes. In my class, you'll learn how to make it just like a real Japanese home!
・Yakisoba
Yakisoba is stir-fried noodles with meat and vegetables, seasoned with a special savory sauce. It’s a classic dish at Japanese festivals and homes. I’ll show you how to cook it in a frying pan so you can easily recreate this delicious taste back in your own country!
・Fruit Daifuku (Wagashi)
This is a very popular Japanese dessert! We wrap fresh seasonal fruits (like strawberries or kiwi) and sweet red bean paste in soft, chewy mochi. The best part is cutting it in half to see the beautiful, colorful cross-section. It’s like edible art!
・Japanese Drink
Enjoy your handmade feast with a complimentary drink. You can choose one from Japanese beer, a Chuhai (fruit cocktail), or a non-alcoholic option. Let’s say "Kanpai!" (Cheers) together!
In this cooking class, we will cook Osaka’s most famous soul foods and a trendy Japanese dessert together in my home kitchen!
1. Savory Okonomiyaki (Japanese Savory Pancake)
First, we will prepare the batter with plenty of fresh cabbage and ingredients. We’ll grill it to a fluffy perfection on a hot plate, just like a real Japanese home! You will learn how to flip the pancake perfectly and top it with sweet savory sauce, creamy mayo, and "dancing" bonito flakes. It's a fun and interactive cooking style that everyone loves.
2. Stir-fried Yakisoba (Japanese Fried Noodles)
Next, we will make Yakisoba using a frying pan. We’ll stir-fry noodles with meat and vegetables, seasoned with a special savory sauce. I will show you how to get the best texture and flavor using standard kitchen tools, so you can easily recreate this dish for your friends and family back home!
3. Handmade Fruit Daifuku (Seasonal Wagashi)
For dessert, we will create beautiful "Fruit Daifuku." We wrap fresh seasonal fruits (like strawberries or kiwi) and sweet red bean paste in soft, stretchy mochi. The highlight of this experience is cutting it in half to see the gorgeous colorful cross-section—it’s truly "edible art"!
4. Enjoy with a Drink! (Kanpai!)
After cooking, we will enjoy the feast together. This course includes one complimentary drink of your choice (Japanese beer, Chuhai, or a non-alcoholic option). Let’s say "Kanpai!" (Cheers) and share stories about Japanese culture and local life in Osaka.
※If you have any food allergies or dietary restrictions (e.g., no pork), please let us know at the time of booking. I am happy to adjust the ingredients for you!

Hello! My name is Maya. I was born in Canada and raised in Osaka, Japan. I also had the chance to work at Disney World in Florida.
My grandmother owned a shabu-shabu restaurant, so I grew up surrounded by good food. That’s where my love for cooking and eating delicious meals comes from. I love traveling, trying authentic local food, and sharing those experiences with others. I’d love to bring a taste of Japanese home cooking to you.
I believe cooking together with locals is one of the best ways to experience a culture. I have experience as an Airbnb host, and now I’m excited to welcome travelers to my home for a fun and friendly Japanese cooking class. Sometimes my mother or my sister also helps with the class, so you may get to cook with more of my family!
After the class, guests will enjoy the meal on their own rather than dining together.
My place is easy to access, close to the Tanimachi Line, Sakaisuji Line, and the JR Tozai Line.
I’m looking forward to meeting you!

★★★★★We enjoyed our cooking experience with Arisa and Maya (and their little, cute dog). Not only did we make Okonomiyaki but also yaki soba and strawberry daifuku. Everything was organized and some ingredients prepared in advance. There was time to sit down and enjoy the meal and we were also treated to whisky/shochu beverage. There was too much to eat so we were given containers to take back to the hotel. Very enjoyable experience!
