Drink: A refreshing Japanese beer or soft drink to complement your meal.
Experience the Heart of Osaka Soul Food!
Join us in a cozy, friendly atmosphere for a hands-on culinary journey. In this workshop, you’ll master the authentic techniques behind Japan’s most beloved street foods and delicate traditional sweets—skills you can easily take back to your own kitchen!
Highlights of the Workshop:
The Art of the Perfect Flip:
Experience the fun of a Japanese-style dinner party! You’ll learn to grill a fluffy Okonomiyaki on a tabletop hot plate and stir-fry savory Yakisoba in a frying pan to aromatic perfection. We’ll show you the secrets to getting that authentic "street food" taste at home.
The Art of Wagashi:
Step into the world of Japanese confectionery. You will wrap fresh seasonal fruit in silky, soft mochi to create your own "Fruit Daifuku"—a beautiful, edible masterpiece.
A Relaxed Japanese Feast:
After cooking, sit down to enjoy your handmade meal. To make it a true celebration, we’ll provide a chilled Japanese beer (or your choice of Chu-hi/soft drink) for a perfect "Cheers!" moment.
A Sustainable Souvenir:
To remember your time with us, the Japanese chopsticks used during your lesson are yours to take home as a special gift.
Hello! My name is Maya. I was born in Canada and raised in Osaka, Japan. I also had the chance to work at Disney World in Florida.
My grandmother owned a shabu-shabu restaurant, so I grew up surrounded by good food. That’s where my love for cooking and eating delicious meals comes from. I love traveling, trying authentic local food, and sharing those experiences with others. I’d love to bring a taste of Japanese home cooking to you.
I believe cooking and eating together with locals is one of the best ways to experience a culture. I have experience as an Airbnb host, and now I’m excited to welcome travelers to my home for a fun and friendly Japanese cooking class. Sometimes my mother or my sister also helps with the class, so you may get to cook with more of my family!
My place is easy to access, close to the Tanimachi Line, Sakaisuji Line, and the JR Tozai Line.
I’m looking forward to meeting you!

★★★★★We enjoyed our cooking experience with Arisa and Maya (and their little, cute dog). Not only did we make Okonomiyaki but also yaki soba and strawberry daifuku. Everything was organized and some ingredients prepared in advance. There was time to sit down and enjoy the meal and we were also treated to whisky/shochu beverage. There was too much to eat so we were given containers to take back to the hotel. Very enjoyable experience!
