●About the class
Because the dough is so hard, we will use our feet to knead the dough. Don’t worry, though it might seem strange, it’s all going to be very hygienic! The dough will be covered in plastic bags as we knead it with our feet. We will also make dashi (stock) to make the soup. And also, we will make sushi roll and cucumber pickles.
●Please note:
・We will use a dashi (stock) sachet which is easy to use for Udon soup. It is commonly used ingredient in a typical Japanese home. You will learn how to use this item.
・Because this class requires the use of a knife, I ask that kids be at least age 10 and are able to use a knife.
・Only people who are participating in the class may attend. No spectators, please.
・If you have any specific dietary restrictions, kindly inform me before you book. I may/may not be able to accommodate your needs.
・For more than 4 participants, please inquire for the price.

I was a child who always liked to help my mother in the kitchen. I gained more interest in cooking when I lived abroad as a Japanese language teacher and had a chance to do cooking sessions as part of my job. I took some cooking courses in Japan, and I taught Japanese cooking in Malaysia as a cooking instructor for individuals and companies, and also gave cooking demonstrations at cultural events. After returning to Japan in 2019, I started my own cooking class in Tokyo. Now I moved to Kyoto.
Come join me in my kitchen and try a hands-on cooking class experience offered in a Japanese home!
I offer three classes below:
・Ramen & Gyoza
・Handmade Udon & Tempura
・Japanese sweets & Matcha

★★★★★Our cooking experience with Nariko was amazing. She was extremely kind and patient with our 11 years old son who loves Udon. She was very knowledgeable and was able to explain each step in details. I would highly recommend her cooking class.

★★★★★I did two classes with Noriko, wagashi and tempura, udon. Both were amazing! She made it so much easier than I expected. I'm really looking forward to trying it on my own back home!
