"KONAMON" feast! Let's make the soul food of Osaka people, i.e., Okonomiyaki & Takoyaki ! It's very easy to make, fun to share, and great to taste!
Takoyaki is very cute, small battered balls containing octopus. When you visit Osaka, you can see Takoyaki shops and people wandering the streets while eating it.
Okonomiyaki is a Japanese savory pancake, made with flour, eggs, shredded cabbage, meat and toppings as you like. This variability is reflected in the dish's name: "okonomi" literally means "to one's liking". You can eat it everywhere in Japan, but especially Okonomiyaki made Hiroshima style and Osaka style are the most famous.
In this lesson, we make two types of KONA (flour) MON (stuff), namely Okonomiyaki, a Japanese savory pancake, and Takoyaki, small battered balls with octopus. After having them, we can have chat over Kimono (I will show you my collection), RAKUGO, a Japanese traditional comic monologue, and so on. If you still have space for sweets in your stomach, we can make special sweet pancakes with the TAKOYAKI iron plate!

You can go to Umeda Sky Building on the way back after the cooking class. I will show you how to make typical Japanese dishes, such as Okonomiyaki, Takoyaki and Yakisoba. I perform RAKUGO, a traditional comic monologue, as an amateur performer wearing Kimono, so I can show you how to wear Kimono.
