Let's make charsiu noodles that is a kind of ramen.
We'll make char siu noodles easily using seasonings that can be purchased at a Japanese supermarket. To make char siu, boil pork belly and season it with soy sauce and sugar. Char siu made at a restaurant takes time, but let's make it easy to season using homemade methods. You can use common Japanese household dishes and cooking utensils.
We don't make noodles from flour, we use store-bought noodles and soup like many households do. I prepare some kinds of noodles and soups.

In this cooking class, you will make ramen. Ramen will be topped with meat, green onions, eggs, and other ingredients.
You will use common cooking utensils found in Japanese homes.
First, boil the pork without any seasoning. Then, season it with soy sauce and sugar. Thinly slice it to make chashu (roasted pork slices).
Next, you will make a topping using boiled eggs called nitamago (simmered eggs). To make this, boil the eggs for 7 minutes and then dip them in Japanese soba broth. This will result in a delicious, flavorful boiled egg.
Cut the green onions into strips to use as a garnish. This will make a very decorative ramen dish.
For the ramen, you can buy delicious ramen from a Japanese supermarket. Just boil it in hot water for 3 minutes.
Serve the ramen using tableware we Japanese have at home.
If you wish, we can prepare ramen with different flavors for each person. There are many kinds of popular ramens in Japanese supermarkets.

★★★★★We had a truly wonderful ramen experience with Machiko, and it was one of the highlights of our Tokyo trip. From the moment we arrived, she made our whole family feel very welcome and comfortable in her home. The class was well-prepared, well-organised, and very enjoyable. Machiko explained everything clearly, guided us step by step, and was extremely patient and kind, especially with our children (7 and 10 years old), who had an amazing time cooking, choosing toppings, and learning how ramen is made. The ramen we made was delicious, and beyond the food itself, what made this experience special was Machiko’s warmth, hospitality, and genuine care. It felt like visiting a friend’s home rather than attending a class. We highly recommend Machiko to anyone visiting Tokyo who wants an authentic, family-friendly, and memorable cooking experience. Thank you again, Machiko-San, for such a beautiful experience.
