▪️Making together Ramen and Yaki Gyoza (pan fried Japanese dumpling)
▪️A welcome matcha latte
▪️Origami making experience
▪️Serving homemade dessert with tea or coffee
Our class is located in the heart of Tokyo, at our home kitchen in a quiet residential area 10 minutes walk from Shinagawa station. We will meet you at 11:00am in front of the ticket office right outside the Central gate and will head to our home kitchen together.
Upon arrival, matcha latte will be served as a welcome drink in a Japanese tea ceremony style. While we introduce each other, you will make your own chopstick rest with Origami. Then we will make crispy yaki gyoza and delicious ramen using fresh noodles and flavorful soup made with broth taken from our authentic homemade tender chashu (braised pork belly). We will ask you to make gyoza all the way through the process and will make ramen together along with the demonstration. In addition to this menu, we will be serving homemade dessert. All our dishes will be arranged in a traditional Japanese setting with antique and artist's tableware.
Our menus use ingredients that can be found in a nearby supermarket so it will be easy for you to try them back home. All recipes will be given as souvenirs.
Our class is in English and last for about three hours. Aprons will be provided so please come empty-handed. While enjoying our dishes, we would love to talk not only about the menu but the places we recommend you to visit in Tokyo. We would be happy to help you make your trip memorable!
★Our class is from 11:30 to 14:30 (meet at Shinagawa station 11:00).
★Please reserve with a minimum of 2 people.
We are both mothers of two and cooking is our daily routine. We both love to eat and have passion for cooking.
Nahoko has worked for a food section in a trading company and at a Japanese tableware store. She has attended various cooking classes and has served as an assistant as well. She loves to collect antique and artist’s tableware and enjoys setting the table beautifully with her dishes.
Tomoko has been abroad for 20 years including her childhood. After becoming a mom, she has lived in Singapore and in the US for 12 years. She has been exchanging recipes with her friends from all around the world.
We welcome you to a Japanese home experience in a relaxing ambience with Omotenashi, a heartfelt hospitality. Join us and let’s have an amazing time together!

★★★★★We loved our cooking experience. From the very start we felt very welcomed, Naho's home is also a very homely and relaxing place to be. We learnt how to make Gyozas and ramen, both were very tasty. They looked after us so well (even saving the day when my partner cut his finger). It was my partner's birthday and they even arranged a cake with candles which was a very thoughtful gesture. We will always remember the experience! Thank you . Joe & aimmy

★★★★★We had such a great time with Nahoko and Tomoko! We were met at the station by Tomoko and walked to the Nahoko's home and were made to feel immediately welcome! Both of them were so lovely, and took time to get to know us over a matcha latte. Nahoka then walked us through the process of making, filling and folding gyozas and also how to make ramen. The gyozas and ramen both tasted great and the whole experience was extremely well put together from start to finish. Not only this, they then helped us to plan the rest of our Tokyo trip by giving us lots of fantastic recommendations. We loved the extra touches of origami and the japanese desert (we had matcha marble cake) and would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to do a very relaxed, home style cooking lesson!

★★★★★I and my daughter recently had the pleasure of attending a ramen and gyoza cooking class with Nahoko and Tomoko. We must say it was an amazing experience! The intimate and homey setting of the class created a warm and welcoming atmosphere, allowing for a truly connected and engaging culinary experience. First, Nahoko prepared a matcha latte in front of us. Gave us the opportunity of using the bamboo tea whisk to create the best consistency of matcha, allowing bubbles to form before pouring in to the soymilk. That was delicious! Nahoko and Tomoko delved into preparing traditional shoyu ramen and pork vegetable gyoza ingredients. Sharing tips on how to make ramen soup and the kind of ingredients to look for. How to prepare chashu pork and how long to boil the eggs for ramen. Our hands-on experience of putting the ingredients together and shaping the gyoza was incredibly satisfying. I love this part! What truly set this cooking class apart was the sense of camaraderie and shared passion for food that permeated throughout the session. I and my daughter worked together to prepare the gyoza, and they gave us step by step instructions on how to do it, plus tips and stories along the way. By the end of the class, as we sat down to savor the fruits of our labor, the aroma of freshly cooked ramen and the crispy texture of the gyoza filled the room. We had a wonderful lunch. To wrap the session, we had marbled matcha cake along with the perfect pairing of barley tea infused water. In conclusion, the ramen and gyoza cooking class was a delightful experience that left us inspired and eager to continue exploring the world of Japanese cuisine! I highly recommend this class to anyone looking for a hands-on, intimate, and connected culinary adventure. I can’t wait to make ramen and gyoza when we go back to Canada! I am so excited for it! Thank you Nahoko and Tomoko for this amazing experience. It is by far, one of the highlight of our trip!

★★★★★Our family had a truly wonderful experience with Tomoko-san and Nahoko-san at Nahoko-san’s lovely home. They were warm and gracious hosts, and coached us with patience (and a lot of positive reinforcement) as we prepared gyozas from scratch and put together delicious ramen. The ingredients were fresh and high quality, and the cooking environment was scrupulously clean. Tomoko-san’s marble matcha cake was a fantastic close to our meal. Our hosts also gave us great shopping tips for the afternoon. Highly recommended!

★★★★★We had a great experience learning how to make gyoza and ramen in the cooking class hosted by Nahoko and Tomoko. They were fantastic hosts and we felt very welcomed - we had such a good time talking and cooking. Tomoko walked us from the station and Nahoko was ready to greet us with a modern tea ceremony in her lovely home. The food was delicious and we look forward to making it again when we get back home. We had a lot of fun folding gyozas and making the dish on our own with attentive guidance from the hosts. The ramen looked amazing with the beautiful color of the flavored eggs. We can heartily recommend this cooking class to anyone interested in Japanese cooking.
