I have been studying calligraphy for over 20 years.
Once again, I had the chance to be involved in communicating Japanese food and culture.

★★★★★My wife and I had the pleasure of attending Taaco’s gluten free Okonomiyaki and Japanese calligraphy class while we were in Kyoto on our honeymoon. Taaco was such a kind and fun host to us and we had a great time as she guided us through making 2 different kinds of okonomiyaki. She provided us with the recipes as well and we immediately made one of them when we got back to the US, so yummy! Taaco is also very skilled at calligraphy and showed us step by step how to write the kanji for “spring” and “sakura.” After many rounds of practice, we got to write out the characters on a framed piece of parchment and take them home as souvenirs. We were very satisfied with our work! This was a wonderful time and we’re so happy we got to experience this side of Kyoto during our stay. I highly recommend it!

★★★★★We had an amazing time with Taaco learning to cook different types of homemade Okonomiyaki in her family home. Taaco then taught us how to do calligraphy, an art that she has been practicing and mastering for more than 20 years! Taaco is an amazing host who will make you feel truly welcome, meeting her is a highlight of our trip. We highly recommend you this experience!
