Cooking Class Menu

My lesson is suitable for those who love food but never attempted to make some Japanese food at home.

Also as I live abroad, I know your situation very well. This class is fully thought out class so please come and join me for cooking!

-Pan fried Goza
We will be making from skin and all as it is tricky to get some ready made skins back home.

-Cucumber and beansprouts salad
Using easy to get hold of vegetables, we will be making fresh and crunch salad.

-Carrot shiri shiri
Another easy to get hold of ingredients dish. Using tin of tuna, shredded carrots and bonito flakes, we will be making delicious and addictive dish.

-Miso soup
The most common soup for the Japanese house hold.

-Rice
I will be serving Organic rice from my favourite rice farm in Hyogo area.

  • Rice

    Rice

Rice is a staple food in Japan. In all most every family, there is a rice cooker. There is variety of Japanese rice brands such as Koshihikari and Hitomebore.

  • Miso Soup

    Miso Soup

Miso soup is a traditional Japanese soup. It's base is "dashi" (Japanese fish stock) and Miso paste. Common added ingredients are Tofu, Green onion and deep‐fried tofu but differs by personal preference. The type of miso is different from region. In western and Easter Japan white miso is mostly used.

Cooking Class Information

My class is well thought out class so it doesn't matter if you are a good or not so good cook to join me in the kitchen.

I will chop Gyoza ingredients and get things ready in advance for you all.

First, I will show you have to clean and get ready to cook some Japanese rice properly.

We then will make cucumber and beansprouts salad very quickly and let it cool in the fridge.

Gyoza dough will be rested and smooth so it will be ready to make it thin and round shape.

We mix all the veggies and mix mince meat well.

Add some seasoning and we start folding gyoza together.

While gyoza is sizzling, we will move on to carrot shirishiri dish.

Finally, we make simple miso soup.

It will be so delicious, comforting and make you feel at home experience for sure.

About Host

My name is Eri. I've been living in the U.K for over 20 years and I currently run Japanese cookery classes from home.

I will be back in Japan during a summer 2020 for 6 weeks or so. If you are there and you'd like to learn how to cook traditional Japanese food with me, please get in touch.

I will make sure to get ready for ingredients which you can buy in England and be able to make it when you return home.
