Face-to-face lesson
・Osaka-style Okonomiyaki
This is my first dish I made for my host family when I was a exchange student in US a long time ago, and they really loved!
It's a Osaka's specialty dish which is so flaffy and savory because of rich bonito stock in it.
You can make it with your favorite ingredients such as pork belly, seafood, cheese, etc. (vegetarian version available).
It's a lot of fun to make it when your friends get together.
・Pork & kimchi stir-fry.
A side dish, very simple and easy to cook , has nice harmony of kimuchi's sweetness and spiciness.
It goes well with rice and also beer!
Okonomiyaki is Japanese-style pizza made from a lot of cabbage, eggs, flour, and many different toppings.
First, we cut vegetables and meat.
Second, we make the okonomiyaki batter with flour, eggs and long yum (if available).
Then mix them and bake it in a frying pan.
Okonomiyaki takes about 15 minutes to cook.
While okonomiyaki is on the heat, let's cook Pork & Kimuchi stir-fry as a side.
We can also enjoy talking at that time!
I’ll meet you either Asagaya(JC08) or Nakamurabashi(SI07)
I will explain you about what we are going to make according to my recipe. I will give you my recipe as a gift!
Let’s make the okonomiyaki with several toppings. It’s a fun to mix and form it. There are some important tips for making it fluffy and tasty!
Waiting for the okonomiyaki cooked, let’s cook one more dish. Many my guests love this buta-kimuchi so much because it’s so tasty and even easy.
Let’s eat and talk. Let me know about you and your country, and ask me anything!
Hi! I’m Eri, a culinary teacher from calmo cooking salon in Tokyo. I’ve taught cooking for 18 years and to more than 1000 people!
What kind of food do you like to cook and eat? I believe that a good time can be created when the person who makes meals enjoys cooking itself.
Though I teach a variety of dishes useful for from everyday meals to parties like potluck, I always try to make them easy and simple for one person to cook at home.
Feel free to ask any questions or what you want to know about cooking and Japan.
Classes will be held in both English and Japanese, so please come and join me also for cultural exchange.
I have been teaching cooking for 18 years, have two daughters, and love playing tennis!

★★★★★My boyfriend and I like to cook together, so we took a Okonomiyaki-class. Eri is a great teacher and person. She explained all the ingredients to us and showed us how to create the perfect dough. After we had a tasty meal, she even went with us to the supermarket, so we could buy all the ingredients that are not so easy to get in germany. Eri is not only teaching you how to cook, she gave us good tips for shopping and restaurants in Tokio as well. We had good conversations so we will keep this afternoon as a great memory and hope to see Eri one day again :)

★★★★★We booked the experience during our honeymoon in Japan because we really wanted to learn how to cook original okonomiyaki, and it was the best idea ever! Eri is a professional cooker and teached us all the segrets of a perfect okonomiyaki, even making us try two different versions and a side dish. The atmosphere was relaxed and we chatted a lot about our countries and habits. She even drove us quickly to the supermarket on our way back home to buy some ingredients! I couldn't recommend more!

★★★★★It was very fun spending a few hours cooking with Eri. My friends and I consider it a highlight of our trip. Eri provided everything we needed for the class and explained the steps for making okonomiyaki in a way that was easy to understand. She even left us with a recipe so we could make the food at home ourselves! If you're looking for a teacher who can cook and teach you new things about Japan, Eri is the chef for you. I will have to take another of her classes in the future.
