Machiko and her family were very welcoming. We got to cook a full course of miso soup, steamed egg custard and Tonkatsu! The cooking / dining area was very nice. Everything was delicious and I highly recommend anyone in Tokyo to come and experience an authentic home made meal

We had a stellar experience with Machiko and her family! The food we made was very flavorful. Best miso soup I’ve ever had! Machiko is an excellent instructor. Many of the ingredients and utensils used in the class are different from what we can find in the west so it was nice to be able to learn and taste new things. Some of the recipes were new to us while others we had tried already. Being able to cook and experience a homemade Japanese meal in an everyday Japanese home was surreal. The home was cozy and the family was welcoming. We were picked up from the nearest station and dropped off after dinner. We were also provided with the cutest printout of the recipe after the class. This is truly an experience I will never forget! If you ever find yourself in Tokyo with time to spare, please consider booking Machiko’s class!

Machiko and her husband Yuji were so kind and generous to welcome us into their family home. Location is very easy to reach from the station. If you are looking for high quality, balanced, home-cooked Japanese food, I would highly recommend doing this class! After doing 4 other home cooking classes in Japan, we can say that this was one of our favourites and something we look forward to re-creating at home back in Australia. We made Pork Tonkatsu, with a side of freshly grated cabbage, sauces and vegetables. Alongside this, we also made a steamed savoury chicken and vegetable egg custard, along with a unique vegetable miso soup using a variety of fresh ingredients. Everything was well-organised and very hygienic. Thank you again for the warm and memorable experience!
