    Ramen

Ramen is a noodle soup dish and perhaps one of the most popular Japanese dishes. There are many flavours of ramen, such as Shoyu (soy sauce) ramen, Miso ramen, Tonkotsu (pork bone) ramen and so on. Common toppings are Chashu (braised pork), Negi (green onion) and Nori (dried seaweed).

  • Gyoza

    Gyoza

Gyoza is a dumpling using wrapping thing dough to hold the inner ingredients. Most commonly, minced pork, cabbage, Garlic and Leek. The origin of Gyoza is from China but it has evolved uniquely in Japan and now quite different from the Chinese one.

  • Sake

    Sake

Japanese popular alcoholic drink must be Sake, or called Nihonshu, made from fermented rice. The foundation of good sake is quality rice, clean water, koji mold and yeast. Premium sake differentiates itself in quality of ingredients and production process, so that flavors ranges light and crisp to richer, fruity notes.

Meet Your Instructor: Junko

Hello! My name is Junko. I'm a native Japanese local, a graduate of Sophia University, and a former high school teacher. In my free time, I love swimming, canoeing, reading, and traveling.
My passion for traditional Japanese cuisine runs deep, having prepared these dishes throughout most of my life. I am dedicated to creating high-quality, additive-free meals, always with a focus on healthy cooking practices.
Though born and raised in Tokyo, I've also had the enriching opportunity to live abroad in places like Singapore, Hong Kong, and the United States for a total of five years. These experiences have allowed me to pick up English, which I truly enjoy speaking whenever I can!
I am a very sociable person and genuinely enjoy connecting with people from diverse backgrounds. Sharing my love for Japanese cuisine and culture is a true passion, and I eagerly look forward to embarking on this culinary journey with you!

Junko was so welcoming and lovely! Gyoza, ramen, and dessert were all so delicious, and even got to try fresh cherries and edamame from the garden, along with matcha and coffee. Such a nice experience and quiet location :)

Hi Ruby and Josh! Thank you for choosing my class. I heard that you took a cooking class in Thailand. I think this class was different from the one you took there, but I hope you learned how easy it is to make these ramen and gyoza. Please try making them again in Perth.Have a nice journey!

Had an incredible time with Junko-san, the food was delicious, the instructions were great and it was a very comfortable experience. Even though our japanese is quite bad, and we could only really speak in english, it was not a problem for Junko-san to guide us through the steps. Would highly recommend for anyone!

Hi, Mikael, thank you for your overwhelmingly kind words. I also had a very pleasant time welcoming both of you. I have been a homemaker for a long time and have always cooked homemade meals, so I can make just about anything. Feel free to request dishes outside the menu as well. If you have the chance, please visit again. For now, try making rich miso ramen using cashew nuts and peanuts!!
