Gyoza is a dumpling using thin dough wrapped around delicious, mouth-watering ingredients. You can customize them according to your favorites but common ones include minced pork, cabbage, garlic and leek. Gyoza originated in China, but have evolved in Japan to be a uniquely Japanese staple of household cooking. Try it for yourself and get hooked on gyoza!
This is a two-hour online private cooking class using Zoom. We will introduce ourselves and start preparing the gyoza using dough.
I'll teach you how to prepare the filling, how to wrap the dumplings, and pan-fry them carefully.
The ingredients are easy to prepare and find in most supermarkets:
Main Ingredients.
80g all purpose flour
minced pork or chicken,
cabbage , celery , green onion ,
ginger and garlic
The gyoza are crunchy and crispy, and the ingredients are fresh and vibrant, so let's make homemade dumplings together! You'll be amazed at how good it tastes!

★★★★★Junko is a very patient, knowledgeable and talented teaching. She taught 2 13-yr old boys to make 2 kinds of winged gyozas! Not easy but the process was great fun, cooking with the young teens a success and the gyozas so delicious!

★★★★★We had a great time making gyoza with Junko. She was super flexible in accommodating three of us in multiple time zones and with both vegetable and pork menus, patiently explaining the different steps to each of us and sharing a great conversation about Japan and the food. We look forward to taking another class with her, either on zoom or in Tokyo!

★★★★★Junko's cooking class was the most fun we've had in a long time. We've done other cooking classes recently with other chefs/cooks but they were always so formal and serious, and they never left room for questions or for re-demonstrating techniques, plus we all had to share in making one single recipe. Junko made sure everyone was making their own dish, and made sure everyone got an opportunity to learn each skill. Not everyone in our group was always on camera so if she hadn't seen someone's work in a while she'd make sure to call on them to come over and show what they were doing so she could be sure they understood the instructions. Making our own Gyoza wrappers was so easy with her instructions! The best part, though, is that she is FUN! She made jokes with us and when she saw we were drinking wine she insisted that we all toast together, and she answered questions about anything from the recipe to her life in Japan to where she's traveled, and she asked a lot of questions about where we live and where we like to travel too. It was really nice to have a class that was so relaxed where we were able to learn so much. The food was AMAZING, and even though our group made a total of 36 Gyoza, we were still fighting over who got the last one! Highly recommend her classes to anyone wanting to learn something new.

Hi Jason,
Thank you so much for your wonderful review.
We all had fun cooking and chatting because of your family are friendly too. The top priority for me is entertaining participants.
This is why, I serve my class from Japan to people who live abroad. So it is fun to know each other, culture and foods.
Come over my house and toast with a glass of frozen margarita when you travel to Japan!!

★★★★★Our Gyoza making lesson with Junko was amazing! Junko was very thorough in showing us how to make authentic gyozas. My partner and I were warmly welcomed to the lesson by Junko, who taught us how to make 12 pork and 12 prawn gyozas. Junko was very patient with us and talked us through every step of the way - especially the tricky Gyoza folding and pinching part! The lesson was a great success and the gyozas were delicious. I will recommend Junko's lesson to all my friends and family, she is fantastic. Thank you so much Junko!

★★★★★An amazing experience. We love to cook and thought a cooking class would be a perfect fathers day gift. We had been in Japan last November, and wanted to continue our experience. Junko was amazing. She was incredibly prepared, and made the entire experience fun and interactive. We laughed, enjoyed the experience, and as it turned out, the gyoza was simply delicious. It is our intention to do additional classes with her. If I could give more stars, I would. As a side note, when we were in Tokyo last November, we stayed at the hotel where Junko was concierge. After talking to her for a few moments, we all realized we remembered each other from the trip. That added to the enjoyment. A small world indeed. Junko was and is delight, and I would heartily recommend her to anyone with (or without) a passion for cooking.

I love the way she taught me how to make gyoza and sharing with me her life story. We even agreed to meet when we go to Tokyo and have ME time together. She alao offered for my boys to stay with her while I go out with my husband for a date. How cool is that! I only signed up for a cooking class but I got a friend in her!
