Pai is probably best known for the spectacular natural vistas. It is set in the valley between walls of mountains that seem to never end. Bamboo-rafting or hiking in the mountains are popular activities but many just lounge on their river-side porch and enjoy the peace and quiet. The food-loving travellers will also be happy in Pai with the many restaurants. Best of all – you can learn to cook the unique Thai food you eat in the restaurants.

In Pai tourists will get a true and unique taste of the best Thailand has to offer. While the town is very tourist friendly, it is not a completely western town that almost exclusively caters to tourists. Visitors will find authentic Thailand in this town and authentic Thai flavours to boot. This is already reason enough for any food-lover to join a cooking class and for a newbie to start cooking as soon as possible.
The friendliness of the hosts, teachers and owners of the different schools and classes are truly top notch. You will find Pai people not only chatting to you and giving you as much knowledge as they can but they will also regale you with stories of their life as the class progresses. These lessons happen in some of the owners’ and teachers’ own homes and they are very hospitable.
